Red Eye Removal using Picasa
Google’s Picasa is an easy to use picture editor and picture organizer. The main advantage of Picasa is that it is a freeware. The presence of red color pupils in photographs is referred to as the red eye in photography. It is an unwanted effect and it results in the loss of natural beauty of the photograph taken. It occurs when the lens of the camera is very close to the photographic flash light. One of the easiest methods to remove the red eye from a photograph is by using Google’s Picasa software.
Select the Photo for Red Eye Removal
First of all open Picasa in your computer. You can see the lists of photographs stored in your computer. From this list, select the photo for which you want to remove the red eye. It is done by double clicking the image. There will be a list of options to the left side of the selected photo. Click on the Redeye button there.

Once you have selected the option, the selected option will get highlighted. Now you can use your mouse to select the red eye part. The selection is made by making a selection box around the eye. This is done by clicking the left mouse button and by dragging it. Make sure that the selection box encloses the entire red are for the eye.
Once you complete the selection box, remove your hand from the left click button of the mouse. Now, you will see that the red eye is removed and the natural eye color is restored.
Repeat the same procedure for the other eye too. Once you finish it for both the eyes, click on the Apply button on the left side to save the changes made.
