Olympus E-5 – The Evolution

The new Olympus E-5 is the latest addition to the Four Thirds DSLR range. You may remember that in 2003, Olympus introduced the E-1 which was the first Four Thirds DSLR camera and it represented a stepping stone not only for the manufacturer but also for the competitors.

The Beginning Of An Era – The Olympus E-5

In 2003, Olympus started the Four Thirds DSLR range with the introduction of the E-1. Since then, there were a lot of models that made their appearance but only a selected few rose to the occasion. In 2007, Olympus introduced the E-3 that was one of the greats; it was a big step forward that brought big improvements in all aspects. Now, in 2010, we get to see the latest addition to the Four Thirds DSLR range and it has the name of Olympus E-5.

Olympus Stylus 1040 review

Olympus announced its new digital camera Olympus Stylus 1040 on 25th August 2008. It is a 10.1 Mega pixel camera. It supports digital zoom up to 3x.

Olympus FE-20 review

Olympus announced its new digital camera Olympus FE-20 on 8th August 2008. It is an 8.0 Mega pixel digital camera. Digital zooming is possible in this camera up to 4x and optical zooming is possible up to 3x.

Olympus E-420

As slimming down of cameras continue, yet another baby digital SLR is launched by Olympus. This newly launched baby DSLR is a 10 MP camera, called as E420 and comes along with a compact lens. This combo of the minuscule DSLR and the 25 mm f 2.8 lenses is pocket sized and easy to carry. Thus it is a great combination of Power and output performance of a DSLR and extreme portability. It not only offers heavyweight technology but also retains features like LCD’s. It is merely 13.4 ounces i.e. 380 grams in weight, making it 20 to 40% lighter than its competitors.
