Olympus FE-20 review
Olympus announced its new digital camera Olympus FE-20 on 8th August 2008. It is an 8.0 Mega pixel digital camera. Digital zooming is possible in this camera up to 4x and optical zooming is possible up to 3x.
Olympus FE-20 Features
The camera utilizes a CCD type sensor. Maximum possible image resolution is 3264 x 2448. Other resolution includes 2560 x 1920, 2048 x 1536, 1920 x 1080, 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960 and 640 x 480. It supports two image ratios. They are 4:3 and 16:9. The pixel density of the camera is 33 MP/cm². Wide zoom is possible up to 39 mm and Tele zoom is possible up to 108 mm. It supports auto focus only. Olympus FE-20 is integrated with the latest face detection technology. The normal focus range of the camera is 60 cm and the macro focus range is 5 cm.
Olympus FE-20 is provided with a built in flash and it does not support external flash. There are 5 flash modes in the camera. It includes Auto, On Off, Red Eye reduction and Fill in. The camera supports movie recording. Movie clips can be obtained in 2 different resolutions. They are 640 x 480, 15 fps and 320 x 240, 15 fps. Olympus has also provided a self timer in this digital camera. It uses a 2.5” LCD screen for display and has got a resolution of 154,000 pixels.
Power and Connectivity
Olympus FE-20 uses rechargeable Lithium ion battery for its functioning. Battery charger is also provided along with the camera. Olympus FE 20 is provided with both video out and USB facility for connecting to other devices. Thus you can share the image and videos captured. The data cable for connecting the camera to the computer will be provided along with the camera.
Weight and Storage
Olympus FE 20 weighs about 128g. This weight includes the weight of the batteries also. It has got a dimension: 96 x 57 x 22 mm. Camera is provided with 20.5 MB of internal storage space. You can also use xD picture card in order to increase the storage space.
Price and Looks
It will be available in September at a price of 20$. It has got a stylish design and can be carried easily. It is available in four colors- red, pink, black and silver.
